A song of strength for King’s

12.08.15 Categories: Helipad Appeal, Staff stories, Supporter stories

In January 2015, Dr Rony Berrebi, who works in King’s Anaesthetics and Critical Care department, combined his passions for medicine and music and organised a special concert to raise money for the King's Helipad Appeal.

‘I'm the first in line when it comes to taking care of extremely urgent situations such as life-threatening trauma, cardiac surgery and neurosurgery,’ he says. ‘So I know how a helipad at King’s could save many lives every year.’

Rony, with his band Rony Trio, released a song he wrote himself called Strong and is donating all proceeds to the hospital.

Rony says he was inspired to write the song by his work at King’s: ‘Having experienced working with critically ill patients alongside my hospital colleagues I wrote a song about this very experience,’ he says. ‘It is dedicated to hospital staff who help to save lives every day.’

We are very grateful to supporters like Rony who have helped make our helipad a reality.
